This weeks challenge at Studio L3 is again from Tim Hotlz Book Compendium of Curiosities II.  You can find the instructions on page 48, call shattered stains. This challenge is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp World.

I decided to start Christmas projects early this year.  I am making an advent calendar for my grand kids.  I have to make each block twice.  I found that if you coat 140# water paper with glossy accents, it becomes bendable. Because of this, it should hold up.  I will stitch each block on to felt when I am done.   Each 6x6 block will be a pocket.  I may have to do this block over if I have the energy.  I used micro glaze to to make the distress stains permanent, however, there was some stain on the back of the reindeer.  So there is some smearing, but imperfection are part of art, right!

  2. I really love this design, Donna-- it's Christmas-y elegance. Great, subtle colors and a beautiful use of the Shattered Stains technique. Great tip about the watercolor paper and Glossy Accents, too!

    Thanks for joining the challenge!
