Week 8 of Linda's Studio L3 challenge. This time we were to following the technique found on page 62 of Tim Holtz Compendium of Curiosities vol II. This challenge was called re purposed packaging.
I first embossed a piece of packaging material with cracked embossing folder. I then used glue on the raised edges of the design. I think this makes it look like it's raining? The glue then created a resist on my tag. So when I added my distressed ink, the glue resisted the ink.
I also used packaging material to cut out the fence, embossed it with wood grain, and then used alcohol ink to stain. Also this week at Simon Says Stamp & Show, the challenge is to show some texture. The lucky winner will receive a $50.00 gift certificate to Simon Says Stamp Store. I got the idea of the glue from Kaz.
I have just noticed that the theme is the same as the challenge on Artful Times. So I am also entering here.

I finally started scrapbooking. The title of this page is; "Dance like a Butterfly, Sting like as Bee". My son decided to qualify in; Kick Boxing, Mauy Thai. The pic is not very good, but it's all I have.
I am going to use this for Simon Says Stamp and Show Blog. The lucky winner will get a $50.00 gift certificate to Simon Says Stamp Store. The theme for the challenge is; One for the Boys. I used distress inks, embossing, a lot of stamps and some Sizzix dies.
